Dear expats and readers,
I’ve been busy clacking away at the keyboard here at True Crime Thailand the past week.
I put out a 22,000 word story on a bitcoin romance scam that has been read nearly a 1,000 times.
Everybody knows that scammers lurk on dating and social media apps — we’ve all encountered them in our internet travels.
In the story that I put out, I focus on turning the scam inside out to understand the psychological mechanisms of how scammers find victims and exploit their mark.
If you haven’t read the story, you can check it out here:
I’ve also been focusing on putting out more audio/video content.
One of the things I’m doing is a daily round up of the best crime stories that I come across every day.
I post them on my Facebook page and I’m starting to post them on the True Crime Thailand YouTube channel as well.
You can check out the video from February 18th here:
With that said, I have a question and request from my newsletter followers:
What kind of audio / video content would you like to see from True Crime Thailand?
I’m going to be doing the daily crime roundups.
But I also want to start something that’s done about once per week that I’m tentatively calling “The Crime Pill.” It’s going to be longer videos that discuss a particular topic and all the issues around them.
What issues would you like to see discussed?
Also, would any of my readers want to be a guest to have a conversation on a crime topic that I would put out on YouTube and Facebook?
I have about 5,000 followers across social media and this email list. That happened in 2.5 months. Every day I’m looking to add more value to True Crime Thailand’s readers and followers.
Let me know if you have any ideas or if you’d like to get on a conversation with me about a crime topic!
What to expect this next week.
I’m putting out an original report of a man who was drugged, kidnapped, and extorted in Bangkok.
The story gave me chills. I did an interview with the victim and I’m putting together the full details in a narrative format now.
This one’s gonna be a True Crime Thailand original report for the ages.
Until then…,
True Crime Thailand
